A Dream of Prophetic Winds

It was 10 years ago today that the Lord spoke to me through a dream and would awaken my heart to a lifetime of pursuing His promises.

In the dream, I felt four winds blowing through my life and each had a profound impact on me:  First were the head-winds of unbelief and compromise that had to be personally pressed through to move forward in God.  Second, were the winds of persuasion which come from others (often with good intentions) to influence you to abandon God's plans for you. Third, were the winds of persecution, in which the activity and ministry of the Gospel is accelerated.  And finally, the winds of the Holy Spirit picked me up and carried me into the promises of God.

At the end of the dream, I found myself declaring and shouting, "two-seventeen... TWO-SEVENTEEN" to people around me.

I woke up from the dream, still resonating with this phrase 2-17 in my spirit and then I heard the Lord ask me "What's the date today?"  I looked at the clock. It was February 17, 2007.

I opened my Bible to Acts 2:17.  It was a passage I had read before, but would never read the same again. I've prayed this passage hundreds, maybe even thousands of times since then, and the Lord has revealed many insights into this passage through my prayerful study of it.  I invite you to read it afresh with me today, and then ask the Lord, "Show me how you want to fulfill this promise in and through my life today?"

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.”
