Psalm 122 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Jerusalem
122 A song of the stairway, by King David[a]
1 I was overjoyed when they said,
“Let’s go up to the house of the Lord.”
2 And now at last we stand here, inside the very gates of Jerusalem!
3 O Jerusalem, you were built as a city of praise,
where God and man mingle together.[b]
4 This is where all the people of Israel are required
to come and worship Jehovah-God.
5 This is where the thrones of kings have been established
to rule in righteousness;
even King David ruled from here. (Seeing the city of David)
6 Pray and seek for Jerusalem’s peace,
for all who love her will prosper!
7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace for those
who dwell inside your walls
and prosperity in your every palace.
8 I intercede for the sake of my family and friends
who dwell there, that they may all live in peace.
9 For the sake of your house, our God,
I will seek the welfare and prosperity of Jerusalem.
Seeking the good of Jerusalem for the sake of the house of God is a personal commitment and resolve to actively work for the welfare of Jerusalem and its inhabitants recognizing that it is God who has chosen Jerusalem for His glory. While the assignment God gives us to bless Israel may fit within a religious, political, business, or humanitarian scope our primary motivation for any work is to see God's house on the earth and His whole family dwelling with Him.
I will now say, “May the peace of the Lord be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good."
As we pray the city of Jerusalem, let's bless the Lord and give thanks to Him for this city, the land, and the people. Let's remember how this city will one day be the Capital of the Kingdom of God with Yeshua reigning as the King of kings. Where God and man will dwell together. From Jerusalem will flow peace and prosperity to all nations, filling the whole earth with the glory of God.
