This piece was inspired by a vision I had while in prayer... I saw doves taking flight coming up out of a field of tall grass at sunset, symbolizing the return of Jews from the nations at the end of the age. God is stirring the hearts of Jewish people to return home and may we continue to pray for them as He does.
The prophet Hosea tells us about God's love for the Jewish people and His plan to restore them to their homeland. "...they shall come trembling like birds from Egypt, and like doves from the land of Assyria, and I will return them to their homes, declares the Lord." (Hosea 11:11).

Oil pastels blend smoothly to saturate the sky with bright yellows and oranges that give way to pinks and purples creating movement as a new cloud-gathering forms upon the horizon. Dark colors create deep shadows in the fields carving out ideal hiding places among the tall grass suggesting there are more where these have come from. The fading light softly illuminates their outstretched wings as the doves are stirred from their place of refuge and set their course somewhere over the tree-lined horizon.
